Learn how to create a Professional banner in photoshop. I will show you some techniques of creating this banner and the rest is your creativity. A well illustrated step by step instruction, so that you can follow easily and create you own banner or for your client. Lets start this tutorial.

Before you start this tutorial, please consider the following.
  • For this tutorial you must have Photoshop CS3 or a similar program.
  • You know Photoshop basics (how to use different tools in photoshop)
  • You know how to use animation tool.
  • You know how to use layers

First create a new document with a size of 480x60 height and width.
Fill the background with 'Black color'

Next add all the text and graphics you would like to use in your banner
(make sure that all the text&graphics are in separate individual layers).

Now i hided all the layers except the photoshop icon on left.

Open Animation panel windows>animation to activate the animation tool, i added a new 'Frame Layer' in animation palate and lowered the opacity of my first text layer to 10%.
Add another layer and adjusted my layer opacity to 50, next 85-90 and finally new frame with 100%.
(for smooth animation choose the frame rate to 0.02 sec).

After this i hided the previous layer and activated(un hided) the new layer. I placed the text to right(not visible in document) and i animated the text from right to left.
After this step your animation should look like this, if your animation is slow or fast it depends on frame rate and by increasing or decreasing the value of the frames you can get a smooth animation.

Next i activated(making visible of the layers) other text layers and animated, also added some small graphics and animated them also.

Now come the final steps ie animating "Type writer text effect and sink of Novado Logo"

For Type writer effect i created a new layer above the text i wanted to animate, made a selection and filled with 'Black color' .

Added new frames in the time line and moving the rectangular solid (solid rectangle filled with black color) i animated the text.
(hold shift key while moving the solid with mouse)

Next come the "visit http://novado.blogspot.com"
First i made the visit-text layer visible and by slightly moving it to left i animated frame by frame.
(always add 2 or 3 frames after the end of each animation, so that the text look it was still there and not vanishing too quickly)

Finally for the sinking Logo.
I added a new layer on top of the Novado Logo and filled with "Black color"
Next i animated it step by step by adding new frames and moving the text behind the solid.
(as you can see in the figure given below)

At the end of the animation add 2 or 3 layer of empty frames so that you animation may start smoothly.

I hope that you have enjoyed this tutorial and have a nice time photoshop-ing.

Thanks for visiting, if you face any trouble following this tutorial post a comment i will help you.
